The chairman of the Chieftaincy committee in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, High Chief Mukaila Kolawole Oluwa, has called on members of the Community Development Association (CDA), and community leaders to regard Ba’ales in communities of their various LGA.

The Olu-Iwa of Apapa and its environs made this observation at the annual budget Stakeholders meeting in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area on Tuesday.
In his words: “We must give regard to whom it is due.
” The Ba’ales are the overlords holding the land in trust for the landowners, and matters affecting the community should be forwarded to them for consultation.”

He berated the attitude of some community leaders who ignore the traditional leaders in communities and visit a council chairman instead, on matters affecting their communities. And which he described as a faulty mechanism in the channel of community management.

According to the soon-to-be-crowned King; he said that frequent interventions by some political elements in the community often override the status of the Ba’ale and such should not be consoled.
” The community encompasses different tribes with different political ideologies, customs, and values, the Ba’ale is the head, and must be consulted in order to breed a sense of unity among residents in the area,” he submitted.
