Organisers of Ajegunle Legacy Awards (ALA), led by Fakunle Sheriff Ekundayo paid a courtesy visit to the executive chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area( LCDA), Mayor Olufemi Okeowo.

Explaining the purpose of the visit the convener of ALA Fakunle Sheriff Ekundayo, says it had become expedient for media organisations to identify and celebrate enterprising youths, whose social and economic activities in Ajegunle have impacted humanity.

According to Fakunle, the administration of Mayor Olufemi Okeowo has unified all political caucuses in Ifelodun. He added that the council mayor’s developmental strides in the LCDA have made the government closer to the masses in Ifelodun. 

He sighted some of the landmark achievements of Mayor Okeowo’s administration which include: a monthly welfare package for residents of Ifelodun LCDA, promotion of education programs and welfare package for pupils in Ifelodun, monumental strides in road infrastructure, and health intervention programs among others.

“You’re a political leader, a unifier who is passionate in the promotion of education mass-oriented programs,” he said.

Responding after a letter of recognition for the Ajegunle Legacy Award was presented, Mayor Okeowo commended the organisers, saying the purpose of the award deserves to be sustained.

“I want to commend this gesture of promoting excellence among our youths, this must be sustained,” he said.

Mayor Olufemi Okeowo said his administration is committed to promoting human development among youths in Ifelodun, adding that all necessary assistance to make the Ajegunle Legacy Awards successful is guaranteed by his administration. 

The Ajegunle Legacy Awards(ALA) is a social impact assessment project organised by Project 3:16 Metro, the award is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at the Marriot Hotel, Ikeja.
