– Oba Moroof Oluwa sues for peace and unity among kinsmen
Today, Saturday 27 May 2023, marks another turning point in the Oluwa Royal Family after Prince Moroof Oyekunle Oluwa was crowned the new Olu of Iwa Kingdom in Apapa, Lagos.
The new king His Royal Majesty Oba Moroof Oyekunle Oluwa received Staff of Office from Lagos Governor Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by Mrs Kikelomo Bolarinwa Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, and Mr. Bolaji Kayode Roberts Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Community Affairs.
King Oluwa, who was in the company of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Fatai Oyeyimika Aromire, Oba of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, during his acceptance speech commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for ensuring that the long-awaited royal rights of the Oluwa dynasty were manifested with the new royal status.
He also thanked Prince Rabiu Adio Oluwa, the Asiwaju of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, and Baba Oba of the Oluwa Royal family, for the elderly role in ensuring peace and unity thrive in the family.
In the king’s remark, he urged family members to embrace the new development and work with him for a greater Iwa Kingdom.
While concluding his speech, King Moroof Oyekunle Oluwa commended the administrative contributions of Ayoola Fatai Adekunle Ajeromi-Ifelodun Executive Chairman, adding that the council chairman has etched his name in the history of grassroots excellence.
The new royal status of the Oluwa Royal family had been confirmed and approved since 2009. This was further enabled by the appointment of late High Chief Mukaila Kolawole Oluwa, as the chairman of Chieftaincy and traditional rulers in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government in 2021. Until his death, the Oluwa Royal family was on the verge of installing late High Chief Mukaila Kolawole Oluwa the first Olu 0f Iwa Kingdom in Apapa and Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government including other neighbouring areas.
