Yesterday, the Radisson Blu Hotel at Ikeja was a haven for social gatherings in honour of Dr. Nimotalai Omolara Olumoh, wife of Lagos lawmaker Hon. Lukmon Sa’ad Olumo, representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency 1.

Notable politicians, royal fathers, academia, administrators and other guests graced the occasion for the lawmaker’s wife.

The event which was organized by the Hon. Olumoh to celebrate his wife who graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Social Works at the Lagos State University, commenced with the introduction of the celebrant; Dr Nimotalai Omolara Olumoh before the waiting guests.

Chairman of the occasion Hon. Ademorin Kuye federal lawmaker representing Shomolu federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives gave his welcome address. He began by acknowledging the fact that the celebrant graduated from his alma mater; Obafemi Awolowo University {OAU} formerly the University of Ife.

Speaking further, Hon. Kuye congratulated Dr. Nimotalai Olumoh on her academic feat, noting further that the doctoral award was for the entire Olumoh family.

“This doctorate is for the Olumoh family and the womenfolk,” he said.

The host Hon. Lukmon Olumoh while delivering his welcome address said the celebration was the first of its kind for his wife because she is a private person.

According to the Hon. Olumoh, he said “the day was all about celebration, and that his wife deserved it.”

The profile of the celebrant was displayed on the LED TV screen and it conjured rapt attention among the dignitaries in attendance who were taken through the academic and social journey of the celebrant Dr Nimotalai Omolara Oluwa.

The arrival of some prominent politicians and socialites enliven the atmosphere, especially with the presence of the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, popular Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, and some Lagos Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries.

Delivering his speech, Speaker of Lagos Assembly Rt. Hon Obasa said today was all about commendation and celebration for the celebrant because she {Dr Nimotalai Olumoh} has done tremendously well for her to have attained this height.

He said further: “This academic feat is not for her and her family alone, she has brought value to her immediate environment.

“Being well-lettered, well-educated is not about you alone it’s about your immediate environment and by extension people associated with you.” He said.

Friends, families and associates gave few remarks about the celebrant. Their speech in general was characterized by positive statements about the celebrant and newest doctorate holder in town, Dr. Olumoh.

Popular fuji maestro King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal’s cameo musical performance thrilled the celebrant as she cut her cake for her doctorate in Social work.

Prominent dignitaries in attendance treated themselves to a rich assorted buffet as the event wound down for the night.

Expressing her gratitude Dr Nimotalai Omolara Olumoh thanked everybody in attendance. While reflecting on her doctoral award journey, she was thankful for the support she garnered from her husband and children.

“My husband would stay all night with me to complete my thesis,” she said.

She also used the medium to thank her lecturers at the Lagos State University starting with Professor Ibidapo Bello Vice Chancellor of the State University, her professors at the University of Abuja, friends and colleagues.

Simioluwa Olumoh, the last child of the Olumohs’ gave the closing remark amid cheers and commendations from the guests in attendance.
