Sequel to the flag off of AJEGUNLE GIRLS EXPO (A.G.E) by the proactive and amiable Executive Chairman of Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Government Council, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, who hosted the Face of Ajegunle Organisers led by elegant Miss. Lucee Akaedu and Olaemma Opara IamSignature to commemorate the World International day of the Girl child on the 11th day of October, 2017, the Organisers and the girls took to the streets to create awareness and an enviable impact within the Ajegunle populace.


Ajegunle Girls Expo, is designed to be a week-long celebration of every Ajegunle Girl and a first of its kind project engineered to celebrate the diverse stories and gifting of every girl-child resident and born in Ajegunle.


The Chairman during the visit of Team Face of Ajegunle to his office, endorsed and launched into plans the Ajegunel Girls Expo; which includes Rally to Support Girls, Picnic for 50 Ajegunle Girls, Medical fair in consonant with the year’s theme tagged: #GirlsEconomy


During a follow through Rally held Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Office of the Organisers (Signature Place), Hon. Olawale Ariyo in his usual solidarity, inspired the current contestants and other participants to the rally on the need to keep energy alive in delivering a better Ajegunle for our girls and everyone at large.


After his mind-blowing speech and words of encouragement for the girl child, members of the public responded amazingly and participated actively in the activities lined out for the day.


Sickle Cell Aid Foundation (SCAF) and Haima Health Initiative were on ground to carry out the Medical Fair/Education as the crowd rallied to quickly get tested and know their genotype status. At least 200 (Two Hundred) people got tested on their genotype while the health education spread to over 10,000 (Ten Thousand) audience both physical and virtually as the event was streamed live on all social media platforms.


The carnival like rally that kicked off in Amukoko, drew lots of people from their houses as everyone wanted to be a part of it. There was very high music, great dance performances, masks wearing  and face painting, while over 5000 (Five Thousand) handbills of the Grand Finale happening on the 3rd Of December, 2017 at Abayomi Awodi-Ora Event Centre, Mechanic Bus/Stop, Oregie, Ajegunle, Lagos, was evenly distributed through the Streets of Olayinka to Ago-Hausa and further down New Road and from Bale street to the ever busy Boundary Market, as garages, markets, the road and shops felt the energetic and fun filled participants in the rally.


Our correspondents gathered that the duo of Lucee Akaedu and Olaemma Opara, the Organisers of FOA were excited at the turnout. They stated that the rest part of the week is fully packed with events and activities that will further deepen the effect of the day’s march cum rally for #GirlsSupportingGirls and will finally settle at the Grand Finale of the ever epic made event in the city of Ajegunle as they celebrate FaceOfAjegunle at her 4th season.


The Organizers are enthusiastic that this year’s event will deliver outstanding and persuasive content that will uphold the legendary nature of the Ajegunle people.


“Winners like other years will be awarded cash prizes and only one will have the chance to represent Nigeria on an international contest like we started last year” they posited.‎
